It’s not always easy to give your dog a regular walk. Sometimes it can be ruff! Maybe you left for work when the sun still hadn’t risen and you won’t be home until after it has set. While your pup waits for you they can get anxious or make a mess just to get some energy out. Maybe you’ve noticed they seem droopier, less playful, and not as fun-loving as usual. The Prefurred Pet Nanny totally understands that sometimes you need an extra pair of hands to juggle all the responsibilities you have. One of those is to ensure your dog gets regular exercise. That’s where we come in!
Can we go for a walk, pleeease?
Instead of getting the puppy-eyes treatment when you pull out the driveway, you can wave goodbye to your dog knowing that they’ll get their steps in while you’re away. We’ll swing by either on a regular, daily or weekly basis, or just as-needed.
The Prefurred Pet Nanny can provide your dog with different lengths of walks and playtime visits. We can come by for a quick, 30-minute walk, or spend more time if needed. Each pet is different and that’s why we tailor our approach for each client.
Taking your dog for a walk is more than just good physical exercise. If you’ve ever gotten that “2pm feeling” at work you know how hard it can be to focus if you stay in one position all day. Dogs are just like humans this way. They need to get out and about. They need to sniff the messages their neighbors leave at every mailbox and telephone pole (as well as leave their own).
Our walking services include any routine household tasks that may need to be done. We can take in the trash (or bring it to the curb) and pick up any mail. If there’s a bit of flower watering or vacuuming to be done we can handle that as well. Maybe you forgot to turn the dishwasher on before you left. Don’t worry – we’ve got you covered!
Dog training takes time, consistency, and patience. It’s important to reinforce the same concepts and commands on a regular basis in the same manner. Sporadic walks that turn into matches of tug-of-war between your shoulder and your dog don’t make anyone happy. If your dog tries to pull you down the street whenever there’s a squirrel on the loose, we can work on leash training. Whenever you’re out walking your dog we want both of you to enjoy time together!
